Tarpania Stable started in 2012 by Ab de Lange. Ab was an enthusiastic rider with the Flevoruiters in Dronten. After that he acted as a jury member for dressage as well as jumping till level ZZ. His sons Edwin and Wilmar, in their youth, did vaulting. So there have always been horses in the stable.
After Ab met Annet, his enthusiasm for the sport rekindled. Annet was also a rider herself, always owned horses. Marije, her daughter, rides competitions her whole life in dressage as well as jumping. Because Ab started watching her compete, he rekindled his enthusiasm to work with sport horses and the enjoy it. In april 2012 the first sport horses were purchased and the stables now owns more then 50 horses. Ab also started to invest his time in breeding. This is a continuous learning process for Ab, which he takes very seriously.
Tarpania Stable is a family business. The daily management is done by Ab. Annet does a lot of work in the background to support him. Ab works together with daughter Marije van Kersbergen. She works as a permanent stable assistant and rider. His Sons, Wilmar and Edwin, they work the land and are near to offer help when needed. The other children, Sjoerd van Kersbergen and Corine de Lange, also help when needed.
In short, the whole family has experience with horses and grew up with them. All horses come in to contact with people every day and are raised well. The character of a horse is important, however a good training is even more essential. Horses must respect the people around them and we in turn have to value their needs. This is what you can call a passion for horses. It is an art to breed good and reliable horses. This is what Tarpania Stables does on an daily basis and what we want to excel at.
We are enormously proud that Marije participated in the 2017 World Cup for young horses with Hollywood Tarpania. Hollywood belongs to the first foals that Ab purchased in 2012 at the foal auction in Borculo. Marije underwent a major development in her skills as a horse trainer and rider by working with Hollywood and all the other young horses. She now trains our young horses and can compete up to level ZZZ.
Our breeding has had many good results at the KWPN and the Zangersheide studbook.
Tarpania Stable is a sport, breeding and trading stable. Our goal is to trade good, reliable and nice to ride horses. We want their new owners to enjoy them as good as we do and hear a lot about them in the future.
